Ms. Weintraub, following graduation from Hofstra Law School, served as a law clerk to the Honorable Jacob Mishler, United States District Judge, United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York (1986-1987). She was a partner in Milberg Weiss prior to joining Whatley Drake Ms. Weintraub has extensive securities class action experience and has acted as one of plaintiffs' co-lead counsel in numerous securities class action cases that have obtained substantial recoveries for defrauded investors including In re Oxford Health Plans, Inc. Securities Litigation, MDL Dkt. No 1222 (CLB) (S.D.N.Y.), In which a cash settlement of $300 million was obtained, In re CVS Corporation Securities Litigation, No. 01-11464 (JLT) (D. Mass.) (settled for $110 million). Ms. Weintraub is the co-author of "Gender Bias and the Treatment of Women as Advocates, "Women in Law (1998), and the "Dissenting Introduction" defending the merits of securities class action litigation contained in the 1994 monograph "Securities Class Actions: Abuses and Remedies," which was published by the National Legal Center for the Public Interest. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, and the American Trial Lawyers Association. |
